Lisa studied architecture at Hall Institute and graduated in 1983. Employed in the field of surveying and/or civil engineering for 35 years, drafting and design are her specialties. Other areas of expertise include residential and commercial leaching system designs, wetlands permitting in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, subdivisions, site plans, ALTA surveys, mortgage plot plans, as-builts, condominium conversions, etc.
Ms. Barbosa is less of a classroom student and more of a hands on student. Lisa learned most of what she knows for design while working for Frank Pond, a PE, in the 80's. "I definitely had a knack for this work and my brain was a sponge. Hand drafting for a few years then around 1987 he purchased a computer and Autocad version 9. Pre Windows, you had to typeout every command. I taught myself how to use it," she states.
